Just when I was getting back in action, I have to stop again.
I'm sorry, dear Lint Balls, but I'm off again to travel the globe. Or whatever. To travel south, at least, to Villa Amor (above) in Sayulita, Mexico.

You know how the water in a Caribbean spot always looks turquoise from above in the plane? Well, in Bora Bora the water is just that color, even up close. For those craving some serious nightlife, this destination will not do. But, if what you want is to loll by the ocean and sip tropical cocktails, you're in the right place.

I mean, look at these colors!! It's crazy.
Anyway, I stayed at Le Meridien Bora Bora and here were just a few of my favorite things about the experience (since I'll later be boring you with links to actual stories published elsewhere about the destination). I've never been very good at narrowing down, but here goes:

First, my over water bungalow. Yeah, I said "my" like I owned it. I wanted to move in! I mean, how amazing is it to ogle fish from below your livingroom floor? My particular bungalow happened to jut out far into the water, so I really felt like I was in this magical place, under the shadow of that beautiful mountain and with water rippling all around. A.MAZ.ING.

Le Meridien has this awesome turtle sanctuary, where they breed endangered sea turtles and you can swim and snorkel with them. And, despite many a cool turtle and fishy, the bestest thing we saw was the above octopus. I mean, how cool??? And swimming in the same water as you!
Anyway, that's Bora Bora folks. Tune in next time, on the mean streets on NYC. That's right folks. We're flying halfway across the world to the Big Apple, where the octopus is sushi and the temperature was 30 degrees. FAHRENHEIT.

So, I was planning on giving you the down low (or was it the low down?) on Tahiti today, since my last post flew us on over.
Wait: the "down low" in Tahiti sounds like I'm going to tell you where to score transgendered prostitutes.
That's not the case.
Either way, first I need to tell you about my trip mates, right? Well, actually, though I could happily sing the praises of this fabulous batch of ladies for days, I specifically wanted to point you in the direction of writer Sara Reistad-Long's fab food blog with pal Camille Noe Pagán, Svelte Gourmand, all about gourmet food (love) that's healthy (love) and will make us all skinny like French women in Bora Bora (love most). See how I brought that back around??

Seriously, I need to start reading this sitch. And not just because the creators both have cool names with hyphens and accents and stuff. But because, now that I've returned to my inviting LA couch, I seem to want to eat everything in sight. So it might as well be healthy.
Meanwhile, can someone PLEASE explain to me why, now that I've stopped swimming around Bora Bora and running around NYC, NOW I'm hungriest? I thought exercise was supposed to make you want to eat? I'm sedantary. Shouldn't I be full?
Whatever. I'm just going to have to become a svelte gourmand. Just as soon as they deem fried Pepper Salt tofu from my neighborhood Chinese spot healthy. It is, right? Right, Sara? Don't answer that.

Okay. I'm going to stop before I start rapping about something really disturbing like pain killer addiction or my ex-wife Kim. Me rapping in general might be kind of disturbing. Anyway, I'll also stop before I start referring to myself as SLIM LINTY. Really it would be SLIM "but could stand to lose a couple pounds" LINTY.
Anyway, sorry I've forsaken you all for so long, but I was off traveling the high seas in search of treasure (cause that sounds way better than traveling for work). I was in Tahiti and Bora Bora though, which I HIGHLY recommend, and then NYC. But more on that later.
I figure we should ease back in and start slow. I know I've hurt you before, so I need regain your trust, right? So, I'll just tell you about the flight over. Or let me amend that: I won't tell you about the eight plus boring hours of actual flying, but I will share tasty tidbits about the goody bag they offer to all the B.C. travelers on Air Tahiti Nui.
First of all, I should preface this by saying, I don't give a hoot about eye masks and the like. I don't even like them, as--when paired with ear plugs once in Mexico City--I awoke and panicked, thinking I was blind and deaf (and clearly dumb as dirt). That last part was true. Still.
Anyhoo, this travel ammenity bag has the usual ear plugs, eye mask, tooth brush and paste, comb, Smints etc. But it also had a selection of L'Occitane products! A indidvually packaged "Cleansing Cloth" refreshes, a mini "Cooling Hand Cream Gel" is heavenly, since your skin does start to get really dehydrated after an eight hour stint in recycled air. But, best of all, the airline gifts these amazing "Shea Butter Anti-Drying Lip Balms" and I am OBSESSED!
Now, you know I really like a lip balm and I LOVE shea butter, so it's no surprise, but this is hands down one of my favorite Chapstick alternatives ever. It's big and fat and the texture isn't sticky, but it's thick enough to stay on. I just ADORE it!
So, thank you Air Tahiti for the lip balm. Oh, and for getting me safely to Tahiti. That was good too.
